What's for supper?

Okay I am calling all my blogger buddies out there to help me out. What is your next week's menu? Suggest a good recipe to me, what are some of your favorite things to make for your family. I buy for two weeks at a time for my family and I want something different to cook. Cheap and good. :) Leave a comment or two. And send me some recipes my way. Thanks so much!

Since fall is coming up I think of lovely tummy warming foods. I like chili w/cornnbread, casseroles, soup with dumplings, roasts with potatoes and pot pies. Good luck Amanda.

This is *so* not my area. I'm so sick of coming up with menus. My guys hate anything good or good for them, but here's one that I do alot... well at least once a month a lot lol I call it cheater salsbury steak. I buy frozen burger patties (that is the cheater part) cook them up.. I have to do at least 10 or 12 (my guys are big eaters!) after they are cooked I drain out the pan and add a big old cut up onion and cook that until it's transparent, but not browning at all. Take the onions out of the pan and make up 3 packages of brown gravy mix. When that's made up I add back in the burgers and onions. To this I add a huge squirt of katchup... I never measure, but your gravy should have a red tint to it. Give a good sprinkle of ground pepper and nice tablespoon of dried parsley[crumble it up] (it's amazing how dried parsley really perks up a packaged gravy.. gives it a nice fresh taste) I serve this with fresh mashed potatoes (a whole 10 lb bag!) and a veggie... usually corn! Nothing like serving a little starch with starch! lol

Good question! I'm actually going to try to start getting back into weekly menu planning starting this weekend. I was sick of coming home this week with a hungry tummy, no plan, and an incomplete pantry. I'm going to go through my latest issue of Cooking Light for inspiration. They have some good looking homemade pizza recipes that sound good. I'm also going to break out my crockpot now that fall is in the air.
